How it began...
The empty theatre offers endless possibilities which most patrons never experience. We’re fascinated by theatres in all their forms and have attempted to capture this possibility through our cameras.
in May 2009 Bill arranged for us to photograph the empty Paramount theatre in Seattle. Our plan was to experience the theatre with empty minds and photograph what we found–we found far more than we expected.
Since then we’ve photographed eight theatres with plans for dozens more. Each time we learn more about space and how it affects the performance and the audience experience.
